Description
The Abuk black chiffon bucket hat is a very fun and quirky hat. It is our version of the classical bucket hat. These hats where originally made of wool or tweed. However, we made it of a nice matte cotton satin fabric. We gave it a Haruco-vert twist by placing black ruffles on the brim of the hat. The frayed raw edges give this black chiffon bucket hat a unique look.
The bucket hat was introduced around the 1900’s. Irish farmers and fishers were traditionally wearing them as protection against the rain. Therefore, these bucket hats were made waterproof. They could easily be folded and put away in a trouser pocket. In the 60’s the bucket hat became a fashion accessory for women, men followed in the 70’s. In the late 80’s and early 90’s it reemerged via skate and hip hop culture. Now these hats are a popular accessory for any festival outfit or as a nice finishing touch to a casual street look. Bucket hats are here to stay.
